Every bathroom renovation is unique. A lot will depend on the existing floor type and current structure of the room.
They can start from as little as $10,000 if you source all you own materials and range up to $35,000 for extra large, executive style bathrooms. An average bathroom in the Port Macquarie area including all materials would usually be in the range of $15,000 to $25,000.
We can guide you in your choices of fixtures, fittings and tiles. We will look into how many people will be using the bathroom and your particular tastes. For example a large family with young children would need hard wearing accessories, whereas an executive couple may prefer a sleeker look.
Baths usually come in Acrylic and Pressed metal. Metal baths are easy to chip, and if you are putting a shower over it, can be very slippery. We usually recommend an acrylic bath as they are more forgiving in the family bathroom, and less likely to wear and cause injury. Freestanding baths are now common and add an extra dimension to a bathroom.
The choices of basins are endless and vary in size, shape and colours. We can discuss in detail your preferred options once we measure your bathroom.
The average shower is 900 x 900mm. However we can fit a shower to suit any bathroom. The tiles will be ‘graded’ to ensure all water drains quickly away. The shower screen is made to measure. All areas are waterproofed in accordance with the Building Code of Australia.
There are 4 types of shower screens – Framed, Semi Framed, Frameless and Bath/Shower screens.
Frameless Shower Screens
Frameless shower screens open up the bathroom as there are no frames to obstruct the view.
Semi-Frameless Shower Screens
For those wanting to add a splash more style in their bathroom, but are working to a budget, we recommend a Semi frameless shower screen. They have less aluminium and more glass and only the perimeter is framed. It therefore gives the illusion of space and is visually more appealing.
Framed Shower Screens
All doors, sides and perimeters are fully framed with aluminum and include panels of 6mm toughened glass.
If you need to combine the bath and shower area due to space being at a premium, bath screens are ideal. They are available in frameless, semi-framed and framed options.
Shower screens vary in price from $400 to over $2,000 for a fully frameless. The average being $800-$1,000 for a semi frameless.
Most bathroom renovations in Port Macquarie and surrounds take 3-4 weeks. If your renovation is more complex than usual we will advise beforehand that it could take longer. We can make this process as easy as possible by providing a temporary shower and/or toilet if you require it.
